Well - here I am retired !!
As some of you may already know I was made redundant (for the 2nd time) from my last job so I have made the decision to 'retire' and step up my desire to explore more of Australia.
I am in the process of getting my house ready to lease and once that is done I will be 'on the road again' and going back to some of the places I have already been to ( flying visits) and going to others that I have yet to explore - the differnce being this time I have no 'schedule' or time frame.
I have done a number of short trips in my new Camper Trailer and it is fantastic - so all the components are in place - all I have to do is lease the house and get going :-)
I will try to post more information on here and on my Facebook page for those that want to follow my journey and of clourse I will have my SPOT tracker going when i am mobile ( see link at top of this blog to SPOT tracker page)
Let you know more a s things develop
Cheers for now
Terry

Update on 'The Taj'
Well "The Taj" has arrived in Australia and is currently on the wharf in Brisbane awaiting Customs clearance (hopefully by the end of this week) then it goes to Conqueror Camper Trailers HQ to be fitted out to Australian standards (gas and electrics) which should ONLY take about 2 weeks - so looks like I might see it by mid to late Feb - CAN'T WAIT !!!!

My UEV490 - nick named "The Taj" by my mates
According to my 'ticker tape' below I have only another 2 months to wait (at time of this blog update) for the arrival of "The Taj" - it seems like 2 years!!!
Had an update yesterday from the manaufacturere that it will be at Wagga on the 19th Feb - so I guess I will be away the weekend after :-)))
I hope you all have a great Xmas for 2010 and a happy and prosperous 2011

The Adventure Way (20th March - April 6th 2010)
On the 20th March I will be heading off on another (this time short) adventure in my quest to see all of Australia :-)
The trip I am doing is called "The Adventure Way" basically it entails driving from Wagga to Lithgow and then taking 2 weeks and covering about 3,000kms all on dirt roads, ending up in Jamieson .
Just to put it into perspective if any 'sane ' person was to do this trip they would use the Hume Highway and drive about 1500kms and take about 18 hours !
I will meet up with my 4x4 buddies Graeme and Peter at Lithgow and take a liesurely (for me) 2 weeks to complete the trip.
This is the trek and google map that we will be using:

take a look :-)
I will post my SPOT tracking page details as we get closer to departure so keep checking the site for updates -
